Need help with HDD log (red X)

Featured Replies

I woke up this morning to the dread red X on one of my HDDs. I was wondering if somebody could take a look at the syslog and SMART report for me to see if they see anything out of the ordinary? (both attached to this post).

I actually had issues a week or so ago with another HDD in a different port/bay as well. This server has been up and running for nearly a year without issues.

Thanks in advance!

Disk looks fine, SATA controller is using IDE mode, change to AHCI.

Next time please post your diagnostics instead, all info you posted and much more is there: Tools -> Diagnostics

Sorry - was just following the directions in the Wiki

Analyze the syslog and SMART report
Either do it yourself, or create a forum post about your problem in the General Support board for your unRAID version.

That being said, how do I switch to AHCI in unRaid?

And once done, I assume it should then be safe re-enable the drive per the Wiki?

It needs to be switched in the board BIOS.

It should be, though there are a couple of reported_uncorrected errors the disk looks mostly fine, but not a bad idea to run an extended SMART test before rebuilding.
