Possible 4 Kodi VMs with my hardware?

Featured Replies

In my "mancave"  I have 4 TVs on a wall that are used 99% for live TV sports.  Currently using plex with a mix of players like FireTV, Roku, Mibox, and AppleTV.  I'm not really happy with Plex live tv guide (weird specific issues due to my cable company), the non matching inferfaces, and no grid guide on the roku.  I am thinking about going back to Kodi (with NextPVR on a VM) in this space and keep Plex in this space and keep Plex for my roku in my garage and AppleTV/Shield (one always seems to have an issue).  So do you think it would be possible/good idea to load up 4 more VMs on this box, get a GPU for each VM and plug into each TV?  Server is under the stairs behind the TVs.  Or am I an idiot asking for trouble and should just get 4 nvidia shields or Raspberry PIs?

Although it's more expensive, I think going with Nvidia Shields would be a simpler solution. You may be able to do it with your hardware, but I think it would take a lot of time to get going and then care a feeding to make sure it continues to work properly. Shields will just work out of the box.
