October 4, 20187 yr I am troubleshooting an unraid system for a friend. Drive 4 is showing Faulty. Why? it is showing good SMART indicators and it feels like it spins up. I have placed this in a linux system and was able to successfully mount the file system. Attached is a picture of the Dashboard Yes I do have other drives showing problems. but I need to tackle one problem at a time. Thanks for your help Sincerely, Sideband Samurai
October 4, 20187 yr Community Expert Disk got disabled, doesn't mean it's bad, it could for example be a cable/connection issue, please post your diagnostics: Tools -> Diagnostics
October 5, 20187 yr Author Diagnostics is a good suggestion, thank you. I don't think its a cable as I have replaced the cable from the one on the motherboard to one on the HBA tv-diagnostics-20181004-1814.zip
October 5, 20187 yr Author I have successfully upgraded from 6.3.5 to 6.6.1. updated all the plugins and other stuff related to the UnRaid OS
October 5, 20187 yr Author I am wondering if I should do a parity check now or troubleshoot this issue first.
October 5, 20187 yr Community Expert Diags are after rebooting, so can't see what happened when the disk was disabled, but there are already 696 reallocated sectors, worrying especially for such a new disk, prudent way to go would be to replace it.

October 29, 20187 yr Community Expert The SMART reports show that you have 2 disks with a large number of reallocated sectors.

Be sure to setup Notifications to send you an alert by email or other agent so in the future you will only have one problem at a time.

Thanks for this, unfortunately this is a server I am fixing for a friend. I helped him set this up and he started having issues. It sits in my closet until he can get replacement drives to repair the array.

This is a media server with all his DVDs on it. we can always rebuild it from scratch if we need to.
