September 9, 201015 yr Memory seems to be quite used up - I have 2GB of ram in the machine. I have unmenu, bwm-ng, C-complier (for mail), unraid status email script, installed. I've been running for 3 days, memory usage has not changed. I have pre-cleared two drives, did a parity calc and a parity check in that time. 43MB free ram is a little scarry to me. September 9, 201015 yr absolutely normal, since the linux OS is designed to use as much memory as possible for cache. You do not need to have the compiler loaded though once the ssmtp program has been initially compiled. Therefore, do not mark the compiler for re-install on reboot, then reboot to free the space it occupies. Joe L.
September 9, 201015 yr As above, looks fine. If you want further reassurance run : free -m Which will list your actual memory usage excluding all buffers and caches. This will be the true figure of how much the unraid ram disk and running programs are using. From the above I suspect you'll find that a comfortably low number. e.g (from my workstation) total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 3834 3458 375 0 541 506 -/+ buffers/cache: 2411 1423 Swap: 9703 53 9650 the -/+ buffers/cache line is the one you're interested in.
