Running unraid 6.6.1 as a DNS server?

Featured Replies

Hi all

As I run my unraid box 24/7 I was wondering is it possible for it to run a DNS server/service in the background? Just for local stuff. Is there a plugin or App that can help?

Thanks

Paul

It might be overkill for your needs, but you can run PFSENSE in a VM, and have it run a DNS server as well as many other services.

Thanks for the replies. I have been looking at PFSENSE as a option.  It does not recognize unraid network settings. Anyone got any pointers?

*UPDATE* I've been doing some research and you need to pass NIC directly to PFSENSE. As I am using a HP Microserver and I already have raid card installed I won't be able to use PFSENSE :/
