Error "Sorry, an error (403) occurred registering USB Flash GUID xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" on key registration

Featured Replies

I am attempting to install my key on a new server with a different USB stick. I attempted to use the "Replace Key" function, type in my e-mail address but I get the error:

Sorry, an error (403) occurred registering USB Flash GUID xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The error is: GUID 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' is already registered to another user

Yes, this is the e-mail address I used to originally purchase the key.  I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, any suggestions?

Remove flash info

I have xxxxxxxxxx the GUID the user originally put in their post for their security. Moderators and Administrators can check the edit history to see the original information.

If that error is given on a new USB stick then it is likely that the new stick does not have a unique GUID.   What brand/model is the stick?   Some manufacturer’s re-use the same GUID on all their USB sticks rather than giving them each unique GUID’s.
