Hi Everyone-

     I am trying to replace my aging poweredge 320 server(Celeron 2.4 & 4GB Ram).  I currently have the case maxed w 6 tb parity and 14 tb data.

 

This machine has served me well for the last 10 years but it is getting long in the tooth.

 

I would like to add a few more drives and also interested in the Docker Containers.

 

Any opinons on a Poweredge T710 with the following:

2x Intel Xeon E5640 @ 2.67ghz 4-Core

12GB ram (6x 2GB PC3L-10600E)

Perc 6/I raid controller

 8x 3.5″ backplane

    The perc 6i is going to be a problem mostly because it doesn't support drives larger than 2TB, so you are going to want to look for a replacement, something like a Dell H200 or H310, but you would have to get the H310 flashed to IT mode.
