Howdy, I tried to be as descriptive in the title for future googlers to find this thread. I personally looked around and couldn't find a solution that worked. I'm running an Ubuntu 16.04.5 VM running SeaBios. Some more information can be seen in this screenshot:

I was able to do the normal Ubuntu/Linux setup pages and then once install finished and it did its automatic reboot, I got stuck at this page in VNC.

To help google SEO, the message is

" Booting from Hard Disk... " and then hangs.

 

If anyone knows any solutions, let me know!

    I was able to get this "fixed". I re-installed the OS and didn't use SEABIOS this time. Hope this helps!
