October 12, 20187 yr Hi What do you think about a new built with a Ryzen 3 2200g + Asrock B450 Pro4? I will be using my server as a Vanilla server for now......Maybe Plex for 1 or 2 transcoding, that's it I just want to make sure i will not be facing major issues...... Thanks
October 12, 20187 yr There have been some ryzen issues. I had random freezes until I updates the bios on my motherboard to the most current. No issues after that first couple of days.
October 17, 20187 yr Author OK, here is my situation: I'm running Unraid 6.5.1 on a very basic (and old) setup: Sempron LE-1100 + 2GB I'm trying to use another old hardware I have laying around (Intel Core 2 Duo E6750) but I'm struggling to make a PCI video card work So I think the best option is to invest in new hardware I'm running pretty much a vanilla server. I don't think I will ever do VM, maybe 1 or 2 plex transcoding at most On top of it, I want to keep it cheap I was thinking about a Ryzen 3 2200g, but looks like I'm facing more issues than an Intel CPU Should I look at a Pentium G5400 Gold ($50) or go for a Ryzen 3 2200G (slightly more powerful)? Will need new mobo and memory Thanks
March 20, 20197 yr I'm facing a similar dilemma whether to go with Pentium G5400 / G4560 or Ryzen 3 2200G - wondering what you ended up choosing? Or if anyone could share if there are any issues still with Ryzen chips ?
March 20, 20197 yr Author Nothing decided yet......I'm using a slightly better CPU (Athlon X2 250) with 4GB, so good enough for what I do now But I saw at my local MicroCenter that the Ryzen 5 1600 is now at $80.......Might be an interesting choice for the price and 12,300 Passmark
March 20, 20197 yr I purchased a Ryzen 7 2700x 2 months ago and it has been rock solid. No issues at all. I think all the issues have been fixed for the most part when it comes to Ryzen.
