Network Card not available (INTEL PRO/1000 PT QUAD PORT)

Recommended Posts

Hello Guys,

I am a new UNRAID user and need your help.

Bevor I create these new topic I was searching for my problem but I didnt found i actually solution.

In my system I added a "INTEL PRO/1000 PT QUAD PORT" network card. My target was to bond networks with IEEE 802.3ad

- LAN1 -> OnBoard nic to manage UNRAID

- LAN2 -> 1. bond nic1 and nic2 from the quard port card

- LAN3 -> 2. bond nic3 and nic4 from the quard port card

Later I wanted to create different shares as well as 2 to 3 VMs/Containers.

For later: Is it possible to assign VMs to specific networks, for example LAN3?

Best regards

Tim

That's weird because under VMWare ESXi 6.7 the network card is working. All of the nic ports are available under ESXi 6.7.

Port 1 of the network card got an link with UNRAID, the LED flashes. The other 3 ports are "offline"...

I bought an Intel i340-T4 and I will try it in a few days.

I read other posts in this forum to disable the onboard nic. Is it really necessary?

Sorry but why is the network card not detected? Only in UNRAID the card is not available...

Is it possible the assign the network ports to a specific function?

For example:

- LAN1 -> OnBoard nic to manage UNRAID

- LAN2 -> 1. bond nic1 and nic2 from the quard port card (for public VMs like an webserver)

- LAN3 -> 2. bond nic3 and nic4 from the quard port card (for private VMs in my private network)

Is this not possible UNRAID is not an solution for me and we can close the main problem with my network card.

So which card should i buy?

I found the mistake!

It was not an UNRAID problem! My bad...

I install an other PCIe m.2 SSD drive and the mainboard deactivate the last PCIe x16 (x8 lanes) slot.

Now I will try UNRAID under windows i shows all 5 NICs
