October 15, 20187 yr Hi all, thanks for your time ...... I'm using an old 'AMD Phenom II X4 920' on a test build, when I run 'fix common problems' app I get the following error .... "CPU possibly will not throttle down frequency at idle". Suggested fix: "Your CPU is running constantly at 100% and will not throttle down when it's idle (to save heat / power). This is because there is currently no CPU Scaling Driver Installed. Seek assistance on the unRaid forums with this issue". So here I am ....... and thanks for reading. regards --- Numpkin tower-03-diagnostics-20181015-1455.zip tower-03-syslog-20181015-1456.zip
January 6, 20197 yr Join club! I'm on a ten year oldi AMD Phenom™ 9600 Quad-Core @ 2300 and get the sam error with "Fix Common Problems." I see a lot of folks fixing the issue on intels, but not a lot on the AMD side. One mentioned modprobe powernow_k8 but that worketh not for me. I'm still hanging with: # cat /proc/cpuinfo |egrep -i mhz cpu MHz : 2300.212 power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate cpu MHz : 2300.212 power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate cpu MHz : 2300.212 power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate cpu MHz : 2300.212 power management: ts ttp tm stc 100mhzsteps hwpstate Posting my logs in case help is available. January 6, 20197 yr Your BIOS is a few versions older than what is still available on MSI website. If you update load defaults and adjust for what you need/had, then verify Cool'n'Quiet is enabled, HPET is enabled and ACPI is enabled. If you overclock or adjust voltage go back to stock until you verify frequency scaling is working or you give up. Boot into unRAID and grab another diagnostics.
