Recalbox as a VM

Hi guys

 

I have downloaded some .img of recalbox and I am trying to get this working as a vm. I used the linux template, seabios and attached the img as usb hard drive. On booting stops at booting from hard disk. If I try the batocera img then batocera does boot but doesnt allow my xbox one controller to be passed through

 

Any thoughts on how I could get recalbox working as a VM appreciated
