Blindsay
Hey all, So originally i had my cache pool turned on for my share but it kept getting full so i have everything going directly to the mechanical disks now. I was thinking it might be neat to have a 3 tier of storage setup, IE at the top NVME disks for VM's only, then 2.5 SSD's (Since the big ones can be had fairly cheap these days) that act as just a write cache for the pool. Also i like the idea of the VM's not having to fight for I/O with anything else thats going on The workaround i have been doing now that has been ok is i have a single 2.5" ssd outside of the pool that i download to as a scratch drive (then extract and stupid multi-part rar files on) and then move items over in bulk as i see fit. Thoughts? Quote Link to comment

1812
Many people do something like that or similar to not cause I/O issues with vm's hosted on a cache disk(s) Quote Link to comment
