October 24, 20187 yr Author if i cant do it manually then how could i do it...... and i couldnt find a midnight commander as an app on the unraid.. and how can i copy disk to disk... is there a way to set a share of say Disk 2 Disk 3 Disk 4 and move files to Disk 5(New disk) or move to Shares
October 24, 20187 yr Author oh and is there a way to set it that it cant write no more to the broken disks only to the disks that are working fine in the array

October 24, 20187 yr Author i typed mc in the apps on unraid it didnt find a midnight commander as for the /mnt/disk1 to /mnt/disk2 how i type that in windows? and i probably stop using unraid till i get a new drive as read errors i dont like
October 24, 20187 yr Community Expert mc on the console, that means the terminal window, either using a keyboard/monitor on the server or opening the terminal in the GUI, right upper side, but looks like it might be a little complicated for you, probably best to enable disk shares on Settings -> Global Share Settings, then use your Windows desktop to copy/move data from disk to disk, if you're using Windows 8 or later it will use the Samba Server Side Copy feature, i.e., copy is made directly disk to disk avoiding the network round-trip.
October 24, 20187 yr Author ah ok ill give that a try... i just never really used linux or unix freebsd etc.. so i new to typing.. i been a windows user 30 yrs windows 3.1 so i never really learned this other stuff.. i just got into freenas unraid and pfsense all this year.. so i just learning as i go.. as i was using windows home server 2003 and 2011 but since they not supported no more i just been trying new stuff.. ill try that what you mentioned when i get another hard drive this week
