Mouse passthrough to VM not working

Featured Replies

I decided today to set up my Windows VM as a desktop computer. Everything was working well, the video cards passed through, the keyboard, and even the mouse; at first.

I made a couple of other tweaks that I didn't think would affect anything like adding a second virtual HD and increasing the RAM; and then the mouse stopped working. Any mouse.

I have tried removing the pass through, trying different USB locations, etc; but nothing works.  Any tips that I should try?

Thanks,

JM

Any mouse.

Assuming that you're not passing through a USB controller / card, then any change in the mouse requires an update to the VM template to get it working in the VM

Easy thing to do is to re-edit the VM template, and ensure that the mouse is checked off.

Other thing is to install the Hotplug plugin.  (Absolute must have if you're not passing through a controller)  Detach the mouse via the plugin and re-attach it.

Publish your vm config plz

@jeffmackinnon How are you accessing your VM? VNC? I've been experiencing loss of mouse. Keyboard would still work though. I've written about it here:

Hope this sheds some insight.
