Limited Amazon GOLD-BOX Deal - Seagate 5900RPM 2TB for $90.

Featured Replies

Currently Amazon.com has the Seagate Barracuda LP 2 TB 5900RPM SATA drive as a Gold Box special. It lists for $90 with free shipping, and usually no taxes in many places. Currently there's 2.5 hours and 89% stock left in the deal. [ http://www.amazon.com/gp/goldbox/ref=cs_top_nav_gb27 ]

For those considering this, have a read of this other Seagate LP 2TB thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=7402.0

I'll wait until everybody says that the drives are showing up with bios CC35 and don't have problems after running for a year.  Remember to keep the drives screwed down tight to minimize vibration.

I needed a spare for failure event.. so I snagged one at this price.  $89 shipped 2 day free... (prime).. just can't beat it.  Now that I have forced a FW update on one and it seems to be fine, that part really isn't too much concern.  Much less than the EARS and thier jumpers.  ::)

Thanks Brit, snagged one. I have four of these drives already and haven't bothered updating firmware yet. Maybe I'll get around to it when the new drive arrives.
