Trouble adding a new drive?

Featured Replies

I'm trying to add a new drive to my encrypted array, and after the pre-clear it keeps telling me it's unmountable due to missing encryption key.

How do I find this setting or how to mount it with encryption?

Diagnostics attached.

You need to format after clearing.

I attempted to format and it still says unmountable missing encryption key.

Looks like encryption key is missing:

Oct 25 21:37:44 Tower emhttpd: shcmd (715): /usr/sbin/cryptsetup luksFormat /dev/md9 --key-file /root/keyfile
Oct 25 21:37:44 Tower root: Failed to open key file.

Reboot the server, re-enter the encryption key and try to format again.

Thank you for the help.

I had to move the keyfile temparory to that location until it was formatted and mounted.  Then I deleted and did a re-boot and everything is working correctly.

You just made my day! Thanks for sharing your resolution steps! I was equally successful in that manner!
