Lightweight VM for windows TS

Featured Replies

At work we are using thinclients to connect to our terminal server.

We’re able to work from home using a VPN and RDP app. I frequently do this from my iPad or MacBook, but I hate to not be able to use the windows shortcuts I need.

And so I came to think to use my unraid server for this. I use it as a Plex media server in home and remote for my parents and girlfriends parent, they use chromecasts and since we’re not natively English everything needs to be transcoded for the subtitles.

For the for-mentioned reason I need a VM that is as lightweight as possible, but able to connect a VPN and install a RDP client. And it needs to support a dual screen setup.

I’ve red about a couple of Linux thin client distros, but I don’t know if they’re usable as a VM.

Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
