VM Keeps Pausing - Cache disk is high on usage (75%)

Featured Replies

Hello all,

My VMs keep pausing. This seems to be due to high disk usage, but I don't know what is causing it.

- I stopped all tv show recordings to the cache

- installed a dedicated SSD for plex transcoding

- deleted all "cache only" shares

- changed "min free space (cache)" to 2gb.

- thought the docker image might be full so I expanded it to 150gb.

I have 2 Kingsont 250gb SSDs in raid 0 (btrfs). My main page shows over 150gb free space, this could be wrong maybe?

Not sure what else to do. Please see the attached logs.

thank you

I did more digging and found old vdisks from VMs I no longer have still sitting in the "./domains" folder. I deleted these and freed up another 100gb.

I tried looking at the log files but do not know what to look for. Can anyone help me with this?

I looked at the diags but saw no reason for the VMs to be pausing, you have plenty of space on the cache pool.

I figured it out. not sure how, but sleep was set to "30 min". I don't remember changing this in my VMs, but I will take the easy fix. This still does not explain the high cache usage.
