eagle470
I have my cache (called ssd in my case), appdata and system set to run in cache only, yet my drives won't spin down. I can sping them down one by one, but they won't do it in an automated fashion, nor will they do so when clicking the spin disks down. I downloaded the open files plugin and nothing appears to be accessing the main part of my array. Diagnostics are attached, please assist. tower-diagnostics-20181030-0924.zip Quote Link to comment
gacpac
Which version of unraid are you in? That started happening to me after I updated to the new 6.6.3 Quote Link to comment
Excessus
Looks like he's on 6.6.3. I am having a very similar-sounding problem and I'm on 6.6.3 as well. I have also noticed that all disks spin up when i am using read/write/modify instead of reconstruct write. This appears to happen when using NFS mounts rather than SMB, but I'd need to do some more troubleshooting to be sure. Quote Link to comment
eagle470
Sorry it took so long to respond, I've been busy.... Yes, I'm on 6.6.3, with about 10 drives in my array section. NFS would make sense, because I see it happening when my docker containers access the shares, which would be done via NFS. Quote Link to comment
SimonF
I saw same issue with 6.6.3 and went back to 6.6.2 now on 6.6.5 issue seems to have gone away. Quote Link to comment
eagle470
Awesome, I just patched to 6.6.5, but it's concerning that we aren't really being told everything about what is being fixed in each release... Quote Link to comment
Excessus
I can confirm that his behavior has gone away with 6.6.5, too. If I had to guess, it was this change that fixed it: Quote update smartmontools drivedb and hwdata/{pci.ids,usb.ids,oui.txt,manuf.txt} Quote Link to comment
