whipdancer
What's the warranty? Who offers the warranty? What does it take to make a warranty claim? Point is, you can ask about almost any drive and someone will tell you it's awful and someone will tell you it's just fine. I quit asking. I buy drives based on price & warranty. I run at least 3x preclear on the drive and check the smart reports before and after. I'm in the process of retiring 5 drives (from 3y 6m to 5y 1m old) that included WD, Seagate, and Toshiba. The only drives (knock on wood) that I've had fail, I was able to cause failure during preclear - and sent in under warranty (the reason why warranty details are important to me). Just my $.02. DZMM
I've got a few x300 and one n300 - running well for me and warranty replacements with tosh in UK has been very good over the years, apart from one time when they were out of stock. N300 is 3yr warranty. Quote Link to comment
