Unraid disappeared from network

Featured Replies

Hello,

My server has recently disappeared from the network after a reboot.  The server seems to boot up fine, but I can not reach it from another computer on the network.  It obtains an IP address during boot and the router activity light flashes on and off a couple of times but then after boot the router reports the server as being off and the light is no longer there.

If I am on the server and try to ping out I get "connect: network is unreachable"

I ran the following commands:

ethtool eth0:

Syslog attached

syslog.txt

No network is being detected as shown in both the ethtool output

  Link detected: no

and in the ifconfig output (no IP address assigned)

Most likely suspect is a faulty cable.  Second most likely is a bad port on the router, or a bad network interface in the unRAID server.

It is NOT obtaining an IP address when it boots.

The syslog shows:

Sep 13 21:45:09 Tower ifplugd(eth0)[1271]: ifplugd 0.28 initializing.

Sep 13 21:45:09 Tower ifplugd(eth0)[1271]: Using interface eth0/48:5B:39:7A:22:A6 with driver <r8169> (version: 2.3LK-NAPI)

Sep 13 21:45:09 Tower ifplugd(eth0)[1271]: Using detection mode: SIOCETHTOOL

Sep 13 21:45:09 Tower ifplugd(eth0)[1271]: Initialization complete, link beat not detected.

Sep 13 21:45:09 Tower kernel: r8169: eth0: link down

Good luck.

Thank you.  My testing suggests the NIC is bad.  Luckily I am within my 30 day replacement so amazon is shipping me a new board.
