ACPI BIOS Errors in Syslog

Featured Replies

I haven't had a need to examine the syslog in a while as everything has been running smoothly.  Today, however, I was troubleshooting a plugin issue and rebooted several times.  In checking the syslog for info related to the plugin (that issue is now resolved and everything is functioning normally), I came across a lot of ACPI BIOS errors that appear to be related to the SATA ports on the MB.  The errors appear on every reboot.

All drives (HDDs and SSDs) attached to these ports appear to be functioning normally (nothing is connected to ports 7 & 8).  The error does not appear to be fatal and seems to be related to some parsing/string resolution error in ACPI.  BIOS is latest available for the motherboard.

Any cause for concern?

Perhaps this error has appeared in my syslog upon reboot for a while and I have never noticed it.  As I said, everything seems to be functioning normally.

That should be harmless, check for a bios update.

Thanks for the confirmation the error is harmless.  BIOS is latest available for board (4/30./2018) released to mitigate spectre/meltdown bugs.
