could i have incompatible usb?

so i am having problem getting the ldlinux.sys on the usb drive i just created a new unraid system im trying to install on new flash drive i had 4.5.4 i believe now trying to install 4.5.6 in my comp the flash drive is letter h i copied the syslinux file in my c directory i typed in c:\syslinux.exe -ma h: and when i do it says not a removable drive (use -f to override).. ive tried several different things i formatted drive to fat32 it was ntfs ran command prompt as admin (im using win 7) i didnt have these troubles on a previous flash drive that i had used what happens if i have an incompatible usb these problems i describe or is it just more of not being able to boot with it? can someone please help? thanks

i think i figured out problem...the flash drive shows up as a hard drive not as a removable drive...is there anyway to find out if this will happen before you buy a flash drive and anyone know the reason it reads it as harddrive not removable?? thanks
