Notifications - Gmail then NMA dead?

Featured Replies

Good day folks

1 - A year or so back Gmail moved to 2 factor authentication... Which (at the time at least) did not work with unraid

2 - NMA stopped working a few months back and looking at their website it appears they shutdown support in May

What are folks using to receive notifications to either email or Android as of Fall 2018?

Edited by landS

I'm using a Yahoo email account that I created a number of years ago and hadn't used for a long time, so you could say that it's now dedicated to the task. It sends emails to my Gmail account that I use on my Android phone.

Although gMail defaults to 2 factor authentication it is not mandatory.   If you use the option to use “less secure” authentication you can get gMail to work with Unraid.   If necessary you can set up a gmail account just for use with UnRAID if you want to keep 2-factor authentication on your main gmail account.
