November 6, 20187 yr Hello, My USB device died today. I have a backup from 4/11-2018 i have restored from. The problem is that the array had 1 parity disk and 4 data disks. But UNRAID is not accepting the fouth data disk as a valid disk? How do I correct that? (See attachments) I know the data on the disk is valid, I just need to tell UNRAID its not a new disk. Thank you! DISK_ASSIGNMENTS.txt
November 6, 20187 yr -Tools -> New Config -> Retain current configuration: All -> Apply -disk4 will likely need re-assigning -check "parity is already valid" and start the array If you only did what you describe parity should be 100% in sync, but it's not a bad idea to run a parity check.
November 6, 20187 yr It can be dangerous to use a backup that has a different disk configuration than your current one. Several people have restored an old backup only to find that an old parity disk which had been moved to a data slot was being treated as parity by the old backup and so its data was getting overwritten with parity. You can download a zipped copy of flash at any time from Main - Boot Device - Flash - Flash Backup.
