[FS-US] Supermicro CSE-846 24 Bay Server w/ SAS2 Backplane + X9DRi-F MB + 2x E5-2620 Processors

Featured Replies

For those looking for a great Unraid box, here is a pretty good deal:

Chasis: CSE-846A-R1200B
Motherboard: Supermicro X9DRI-F v1.1a
Processors: 2 x E5-2620v1
Backplane: BPN-SAS2-846EL1
Controller: LSi MegaRaid SAS 9266-8i
Power Supply: 2 x PWS-1K21P-1R
Drive Sleds: 24
Air Shroud: Included

Price: $600
RAM: Add $35 per 16GB
Shipping: $80 to continental US via UPS or FedEx ground.

Most are probably aware that these boxes are built like tanks, and this one is especially nice because it has a SAS2 backplane supporting drives > 4TB.

I am not sure if the 9266-8i can be flashed to IT mode, so may need to purchase a cheap 9211-8i card (I often find the Dell Perc H310 or IBM M1015 on eBay for $25). The 9266-8i, however, still holds some value and can be sold to offset the cost if not needed.

Could arrange local pickup in NJ to avoid shipping cost.

I'd say that's about a fair price for the hardware. How to setup VM's with dual CPU's though? Was a doddle with my E5-2630-v4.
