BTRFS "read error corrected" Errors (Solved)

Featured Replies

Hi,

I got an error while trying to copy a file in Krusader, and couldn't restart/force update the container, and then saw the error in the syslog.

Diagnostics attached.

The HBA is resetting causing read errors on multiple devices, you need to fix that first, e.g., by resetting it or changing slots and see if the issue goes away,  then run a scrub on the pool to see if it's recoverable.

How do I reset an HBA? Rebooted the server, entered the HBA configuration screen but no "reset" there,

Only some defaults restore.

I still have errors, and the docker service failed to start.

Might be related: Yesterday I upgraded my Bios.

Edit: Running scrub.

Not reset, re-seat or change to a different slot.

You'll need to delete and recreate the docker image since it's corrupt.

My server has only on board HBA.

I'll wait for the scrub to finish and recreate the docker image.

OK, so check/replace cables to see if it helps, if the HBA keeps resetting you'll continue to have problems.

Edit: You should also update the HBA firmware to latest, which is p20.00.07

Well...that seems to be fixed for now. Had some 150 recoverable btrfs errors, all fixed.

No new errors for now. recreated the docker image and reinstalled all containers.

I will upgrade the HBA firmware. Found this thread with the P20 firmware.

Bothers me that I don't know the cause of this, and it could happen again out of the blue.

Thanks a lot for the help johnnie.
