[Support] binhex - qBittorrentVPN

Recommended Posts

Hello, I've set up this docker and configured for PIA VPN and i'm struggling to get download speeds above 600Kb/s, if I disconnect the VPN I can sustain downloads of 45Mb/s.

I think I have configured it right, however, I think there still might be a configuration error somewhere, but I don't know where to look. Could someone give me hand?

Attach the logs:

How many different endpoints have you tried? PIA has a bunch with port forwarding enabled, some work much better than others.

Morning Everyone,

I've just setup binxhex-qbittorrentvpn using PIA and I'm able to access the web GUI and download torrents, however, if any of the links are magnet links, I can't access them, it refuses to even put them into the Transfers area. When I try to do "register to handle magnet links..." from the 'Tools' drop-down, I get the "To use this feature, the WebUI needs to be accessed over HTTPS" dialogue.

magnet.PNG

I've read through the entire FAQ, searched the forum and only found one person with a sort of similar issue and their fix was to add their subnet/hostnet to the whitelist under 'Authentication' in the 'Web UI' settings and I did that with no change. This is driving me absolutely mad and I feel like I'm missing something super simple.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you!

Additional info: I am able to use the search, right click -> go to description page -> copy the magnet link and add it via file -> add torrent URL and it will start downloading. If I right click and choose download, I get the box to confirm to start but when I hit download, nothing will happen...but only on certain torrents.

Were you able to figure this out? Trying to get this working with a docker container on my PR2100

I had this working fine when I used PIA as my VPN provider but I switched to AirVPN and had a question about port forwarding. AirVPN has you specify the port(s) you want to forward, like so:

delugeportfor.jpg.0a522ffcfe261c4fb9859d9abe5dec6d.jpg

I'm not clear on what port(s) should be forwarded though. Do I specify one of the "Host Ports" listed in the container setup:

delugesetup.jpg.9ec0c93350a5398262e4ea18ccc89a79.jpg

or do I specify the "Incoming Port" shown in the Deluge/settings/network:

Thanks!

Thanks!
Your simply configure the app with the incoming port assigned to you from your VPN provider, no other changes are required.

I'm experiencing something odd. This container (and no others) clears its built-in config occasionally. The container settings remain, but the settings inside the app (username/password, speed limiting, and program to run when a download finishes, for example) revert to default after some (but not all!) unraid restarts.

I'm sure this is me being dumb and having a setting wrong somewhere. Any thoughts?

Looking for some guidance on a recent issue that has come up. I am no longer able to access the web gui. Docker has been running without issue for quite some time and no settings have been changed. I am not currently using a VPN with this docker.

I am having the exact same issue. I have seen a couple of other people mention they are also experiencing the same issue but with no resolution. This typically usually happens to me when I lose power or when I update the container.

Anyone find the cause or a solution to this?

Same here, happens more often when I have a power outage or push an update. Let me know if you find anything, and I'll post here if I find anything as well.

if the loss of settings is happening during a simple restart of the container (and NOT an update), or crash of the host then its def not an issue with the settings being written inside the container and is more likely to be a bug in qbittorrent web ui, anybody done any searches on the current massive issues list to see if there is anything relevant?.

ok guys i will take a look, but if this is randomly just wiping out the settings due to a qbittorrent bug then there is nothing i can do.

Appreciate your effort to look, I was trying to find what was wiping it, but no success. For whatever reason it keeps resetting my /config/qBittorrent/config/qBittorrent.conf to:

[BitTorrent]
Session\Categories=@Variant(\0\0\0\b\0\0\0\x1\0\0\0\x4\0t\0v\0\0\0\n\0\0\0\0)

[Preferences]
Connection\PortRangeMin=58495
Queueing\QueueingEnabled=false
WebUI\Port=8080

As mentioned before this happens both during power outage AND a docker container update.

This is the logs after a simulated power outage (removed any IPs):

Ok, google has been zero help with this one strangely.

Just got this docker installed and all went smooth using PIA with Canada server so that port forwarding will be enabled.

The issue I am having is how do I see what port I am being assigned from PIA so that I can put that into qbittorrent?

All I can find online is to run the PIA port forward script but I did that and it just says port forwarding is already enabled with no further information.

You don't need to configure qbitorrent, it's all done for you

Oh, so the port it qbittorrent is already the forwarded port? And it will update the port when it inevitably changes down the road? Very nice!

I realized I was only pinging tcp and that is why it failed, when I tried via another method ping succeeded.

Very nice plugin, super simple to setup!

Hey Guys,

Had my PC that runs qbittorrentVPN loose power today. When it came back online all the torrents were gone(I was seeding a few)(and I definitely did not have any filters on) . I checked the BT_Backup folder and it seems that all the torrent files are there (including fast resume which were not empty). I did notice that some of the settings had changed, including download location, which I changed back. As I was seeding to private trackers I went and checked them and they all say my torrents are still seeding. I cannot add any new torrents now. BTW I also was running the delugevpn and that seems unaffected. I have done all the checks (more then enough disk space allocated) / restarts that I could think of. Does anyone have any suggestions? I do not really want to start a new container right now as I had downloaded the files into the docker container as I had problem with saving them into my windows mounted drive (lots of the folders ended in a '.'), so it will be very time consuming moving files across. Also I have checked the logs and couldn't see anything that seemed seriously wrong. Any help is appreciated thanks!

Forgot to add that I had looked at the logs

I have this container running, but everytime I try and access the webui, I get the plaintext of the website instead of the right MIME type, any idea what I did wrong?

probably a incompatible browser or perhaps an addon, try chrome or firefox and make sure all script blocking addons are disabled.
