That would depend on how you are accessing from your mobile device?

I am using the wireguard app on my phone and connecting it to my routers vpn. I can access all the others arrs with my home local ip (192.168.1.x) but qbitorrent never works.

  • I rolled back to tag 5.1.1-1-01 which fixed the issue for me. I guess the new update wasn't tested for wireguard connections. Edit the docker container and change "Repository" from binhex/arch-qbitt

  • FWIW, I found this method in Reddit that seemed to work for me until they fix the log bug. But note if you have qbittorrent internet facing, it's a risk.   Add this line under [Preferences]

Hello! I have been using wireguard successfully for a long time with this container, today though when the container restarted I got the following error: 2025-06-27 10:35:26,490 DEBG 'start-script'

You’ll need to add the network used by WireGuard to the LAN_NETWORK in the qbit docker configuration.

I keep trying to figure out what that is but nothing works.

Would think you should be able to see it in the wireguard settings in your firewall appliance.

To sent you a pm if you don't mind to hide ip's.

Sorry but I don’t really know anything about WireGuard.

I got it working with tailscale.

Yeah, I’ve tested with Tailscale and OpenVPN. They both work.

my qbittorrent stopped working when adding new torrents to be downloaded. I set this up a long time ago and it's worked pretty flawlessly until now so I don't remember what I'm doing. Previous torrents still in the queue are working fine and seeding properly but adding new ones immediately goes to "status FAIL".

Lots of comments i saw were about permissions and as far as i can tell, everything is set to read/write.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anybody else facing this issue?
It seems that the parts where the torrents should be is black, and If I go to the menu items, it seems like it is hidden behind that center section.

There are a few bugs in the new webUI. You can probably find several discussions on the qbit forums.

There is a spot you can grab and pull down in the center of the bar. This will reveal the torrents. Every time the page reloads you’ll need to repeat this. I installed one of the alternate webui’s to get around this problem.

@wgstarks  Heh, interesting. Is there a way to install a theme in this container (binhex-qbittorrentvpn)? is there a good tutorial you could point me to? All I can find is how to do it form the GUI :(

There are a few alternative webui’s on the wiki. You may find others as well.

Installation is fairly straightforward for most of them. Looks like they all have instructions in their various GitHub projects.

In a nutshell, create a folder in a path that the container has access to (I used /mnt/user/appdata/binhex-qbittorrentvpn/).

Download the webUI zip file and unpack it to the folder you created.

In the qbit settings check the use alternative webui square and enter the CONTAINER PATH to the folder you created. If you can’t access the settings in the webui you can make the changes in /appdata/binhex-qbittorrent/qBittorrent/config/qBittorrent.conf.

Restart the container.

You're a lifesaver!

Started to get DNS failure every other day...

DNS failure, creating file '/tmp/dnsfailure'

Im using ovpn. Its been working great for a long time, but all of a sudden I have to replace wg0.conf to get it working.

I'm new to Docker and I've have some question about some commands into the docker run and the example he puted into the example :

Should I put a -p argument for VPN INPUT and OUTPUT PORT?

What does this port do : -p 58946:58946  -p 58946:58946/udp ??

What is the startup script? And should I enable it?

What's the actual question? The template has all you need when you add it from Apps.

My questions are :

Should I add a -p argument for VPN INPUT and OUTPUT PORT?

What does  port 58946 do? I don't see it in my qBittorrent WebUI conf

What is the startup script? And should I enable it?

Hello..

I´m wondering if it is possible to use protonvpn with portforward??

And if so, how to do so??

Thank you..

For those with issues deleting files try adjusting this setting in Advanced to “delete permanently”.

Hopefully someone with this issue can test and report back.

I don't look at QB terribly often lately, and noticed the delete issue today. This was indeed the fix. Many thanks.

The devs added support for a trash bin but that really doesn’t work well since the container doesn’t have that functionality afaik.

Friend is having trouble getting his running. Its not creating a wg0.conf file to try and change endpoints.

Here's the log.
