  • I rolled back to tag 5.1.1-1-01 which fixed the issue for me. I guess the new update wasn't tested for wireguard connections. Edit the docker container and change "Repository" from binhex/arch-qbitt

  • FWIW, I found this method in Reddit that seemed to work for me until they fix the log bug. But note if you have qbittorrent internet facing, it's a risk.   Add this line under [Preferences]

Hello! I have been using wireguard successfully for a long time with this container, today though when the container restarted I got the following error: 2025-06-27 10:35:26,490 DEBG 'start-script'

Sorry if this is too general of a question or not pertinent to this docker container.

I've been pinned to 4.3.9 since the 4.4.0 issues which took days for me to fix. I see they're already up to 5.0.2. Has anyone had any experience upgrading their 4.3.9 instance? Did any issues arise? Was it worth it?

Right now I'm operating on if it isn't broken, don't fix it. But would be curious if there's any security risks or QOL features I'm missing out on.

Hello!

My qbittorrent docker wants to update. I want to keep it on version 5.0.1.

How can I do this?

@Kilrah I take with that trophy "tag"  you are saying I am correct?

EDIT: IT WORKED! Thanks!

WARNING

I am seeing an influx of malware via torrents using the trick of creating the payload as a mkv file with a 'lnk' extension (Windows Link) , if you double click what appears to be a video file (windows hides lnk extension) on a Windows machine then the embedded script will run creating an executable from the payload ('video' file), see here, and here and here for a few examples of people reporting this.

Best way to stop this is to set qbittorrent to exclude lnk files from downloading, you can do this by going to Tools/Options/Downloads tab then tick 'exclude file names' and enter in the extensions you do not want to download (will be unselected automatically for you in the files list for the torrent).

This is what i have set, up to you what extensions you want to ignore so tailor to your liking, but i would highly recommend putting in *.lnk as a bare minimum:-

This info was very much appreciated, thank you!

i suspect you have incorrectly defined the umask, but I will need to see a log to help further, please see the following link:- https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/help.md#unraid-users

Its inside the container, not on your host.

Attach the supervisord log and docker run command to your next post. Be sure to redact users/passwords.

This is likely your problem-

2024-11-22 08:56:58 [UNDEF] Inactivity timeout (--ping-restart), restarting

https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/vpn.md

Scroll down to Q17.

I see some people complaining about connectivity issues with recent versions of this docker. I don't know what is the issue and don't really have time to diagnotize it right now, I rarely update my dockers but I went from 4.6.5-1-04 to 5.0.2-1-01 and it stopped working. The docker won't get a local IP address assigned no matter what network I try (the port mappings in the docker webpage is just empty, no IP no nothing). The docker still connects to the VPN just fine with the new version according to the logs, but I can't access it locally...

Going back to 4.6.5-1-04 completely solves the issue.

Example of when it works with the older version:

On latest:

If you decide you want to troubleshoot later post your supervisord log as well as your docker run command. Please stop the container and delete the old supervisord.log so that a fresh one will get created on start. You should redact any users/passwords before posting.

Set it up and docker seemed to be working, but any torrent I add never starts, trackers all give an error, not sure how to diagnose

Hello.

I'm not sure it"s qbittorrent related but I"ve lost almost 25 To of torrents on two drives.😭
Even though I was tweaking my arr apps recently I don't think they are the culprits as even my Music folder got wipeout and I don't use Lidarr.

I have around 2900 torrents running in QT.

All my torrents are visible in the app even though now they are now in the "missing files" state.

My download folder looks like : Download > Media > Movie, Serial, Music etc...

Inside the container my host path is /mnt/user/Download/Media/

Inside Qbittorrent my default save path is /data.

In my arr apps I don't move data but I copy them.

I can confirm that my 2 drives where these data were copied went almost to 1 %.... so they were somehow deleted

I have the recycle bin install but nothing in there.

Even in my arr apps I use the bin and nothing have been moved in there.

I have notice some fuse.hidden files in some subfolder telling me that it was some kind of delete action that was proceeded.

From my point of view it's not a hard drive failure. My Download share use only 2 dedicated drives and they look fine.

I have try to pinpoint the time when it occurred but I don't find any action in my various logs.

I've started to have some errors in Qbittorrent at 2024-11-23T14:05:31 - File error alert. Torrent: XXXXX error: No such file or directory"

Everything was running fine prior to that.

Obviously about the same time I've got similar errors in my arrs apps :

2024-11-23 14:07:12.3|Error|DownloadedMovieImportService|Import failed, path does not exist or is not accessible by Radarr: /data/Movie/ XXXXX Ensure the path exists and the user running Radarr has the correct permissions to access this file/folder

2024-11-23 14:05:44.7|Error|DownloadedEpisodesImportService|Import failed, path does not exist or is not accessible by Sonarr: /downloads/Serial/ XXXX Ensure the path exists and the user running Sonarr has the correct permissions to access this file/folder

In my unraid sylog I don't see anything suspicious around this time....

I was able to re-download some torrents using the force re-check feature and these torrents now sit where they should be.

I really need to investigate and understand what could have happened to take the appropriate correction in my configuration..

Thank you for your help

tower-diagnostics-20241124-1757.zip

Is it possible to use the static/dedicated ip feature that PIA offer so that I always get the same address?

I haven’t added that feature yet and only want to if I can use it.
