Hey guys,

I'm having trouble setting up the qbittorrentvpn contrainer. Whenever I set strict portforwarding to enabled i can't access the webUI, but when it is disabled i can.

Hi were your torrents still running when strict portforwarding was disabled?

  • I rolled back to tag 5.1.1-1-01 which fixed the issue for me. I guess the new update wasn't tested for wireguard connections. Edit the docker container and change "Repository" from binhex/arch-qbitt

  • FWIW, I found this method in Reddit that seemed to work for me until they fix the log bug. But note if you have qbittorrent internet facing, it's a risk.   Add this line under [Preferences]

Hello! I have been using wireguard successfully for a long time with this container, today though when the container restarted I got the following error: 2025-06-27 10:35:26,490 DEBG 'start-script'

Nope I don't have any torrent running yet, just setting the container but ran into this issue

ATM I can torrent if I turn off strict portforwarding but it will seems to get throttled after a while. The error we were getting seems to be an issue with getting a token for a port forwarding token. This looks to be a PIA issue as when I go to the URL the page has been moved.

Hi All,

After a server hung up, i needed to restart my server, after restarting i noticed that all dockers i use from binhex (sabnzbdvpn, qbittorentvpn, delugevpn) do not work anymore.

After 11 or so tries they all stop with messages in the logs. (See Below:)

It seems like somethings changed in PIA wireguard protocol.

I did change sabnzbd to ovpn files from wireguard, and that one started to work.

The other 2 containers i can manage to start, but the port forwarding doesnt work anymore.

Never the less, i want to keep em all 3 on wireguard, openvpn uses more resources i noticed.

I deleting and pulling the dockers again, but doesnt resolve the issue.

Tried same account, with same server on anther machine with linux os, and PIA app and that does work.

Anyway or work around available for this issue ?

** I changed my credentials in the logs **

Running into the same issue too. Keep on getting this in my logs "parse error: Invalid numeric literal at line 2, column 0".

Using PIA WireGuard protocol. Switched to OpenVPN and same issue arises.

Sounds like it my might be due to a change from PIA's side.

Has anyone reached out to PIA ?

Did you also supply ovpn files to the openvpn folder in appdata?

i used these files from pia:
https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/openvpn/openvpn-strong.zip

dont forget the *.pem and *.crt file
should look like this:
ovpn.png.ae27fdecbe1c1875d303175c2508bd9f.png

this works with sabnzbd, qbittorent and deluge, but the last 2 dont portforward this way.

it appears that it doesnt work in torrenting, after it brings up the openvpn tunnel (tun0) and finishing initialization proces, where it is supposed to proceed to starting qbittorent it is starting the initialization proces of the wireguard service and same error returns:

Well we have to wait for binhex to update this container.
Hope he does soon. :)

I'm getting the same error with https://privateinternetaccess.com/gtoken/generateToken - it looks like PIA moved this with a 301 to https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/ar/gtoken/generateToken , and this is somehow breaking the script.

Updating the script to the correct endpoint may resolve the issue...

I just checked the new URL you posted and it does not seem to exist

Unless you're passing credentials to it, you'll get a 404. The old URL works this way too.

Clicking the link in your browser will not work, use curl with the -u param.

Delugevpn users are reporting that docker restarts are now succeeding. Hopefully this is also true for qbittorrent, or will be soon.

Can confirm by qbittorrent is now working as before.

yes me too, without any changes it started to work again with wireguard :)

This is still not working for me. both my qbittorrent containers show this error:

Did you update to the latest container today? If it still isn’t working after updating probably best to attach your entire supervisord.log to your next post. Be sure to redact user/password info.

I upgraded today. One instance had already failed but I didn't notice until I upgraded this one. Attached is my supervisord.log

supervisord.log

Wednesday, November 17, 2021 - update. I tried removing the container and recreating it and get the same error message. Did anything pop to you in the log?

Thanks for the insight. This message suggests there's a list of endpoints that do support port forwarding, any chance you could point me in the direction of that list?
