Hi! I've got an issue with using this container. The issue is happening when i'm restarting my Unraid Host. It doesnt happen if i restart the container when my host is running

Issue: Is that my container looses it's configuration, well most of the configuration such as the set password password (it reverts to the default one). It's also loosing all the save path settings set in the categories/labels. Aswell all the settings done in Options.

The Appdata disk is set to Cache Pool : Only so that shouldnt be an issue, i've also checked if there's any move/copy going around but nope. Nothing like that either.

Has this error happened before to anyone? I cant really wrap my head around it, or find it here on the forums. This is only happening aswell with this container build and none other.

I set it back to Bridged mode and same thing happens. I have to disable the VPN to access the Web UI. I can Ping the ports through PS

ok please run through the possible causes list below (yes this will be a faq at some point when i get a min!):-

  •     wrong lan_network - confirmed the device running the browser has an ip of 192.168.1.xxx right?
  •     browser blocking - are you running adblock?, try incognito to rule out plugin issue, try a different browser
  •     host blocking - check that the device running the browser does not have a firewall blocking the ui port
  •     vlan blocking - if you define vlan's ensure the vlan allows traffic to/from the web ui port
  •     pihole/pfsense/opnsense/router blocking - check firewall, especially if you are running advanced firewalls such as *sense.

also can you please left click the icon, select edit, make a change to anything, then change it back to what it was and click 'apply' at the bottom, then copy and paste the subsequent text that appears (docker run command).

and lastly can you please refresh the log by doing this again:- https://github.com/binhex/documentation/blob/master/docker/faq/help.md

I'm currently running binhex-qbittorrentvpn and it works quite well.  However, since the webui currently is running on the same network as my primary 1gbe home network, it can become quite sluggish when downloads saturate my internet connection (1gb symmetrical).

I have a second NIC installed in my Unraid server and it's direct connected to my pc (no DHCP server, not part of the home network).  I'd like to access the qbittorrent WebUI via this private connection.  How do I best configure things so I don't cause any issues with other services (Sonarr, Radarr, Plex, etc.).  FWIW, I can access those other services using the secondary/private NIC address (IP_2) even though they're all set-up to use the primary ip (IP_1).

My setup is as follows:

Primary NIC (eth0) - 1gbe LAN

IP_1: 192.168.1.90

Static IP assigned by Unifi router

Bridging enabled

Members of br0 = eth0

Secondary NIC (eth2) - 10gbe direct connect to pc

IP_2:  192.168.100.90

Static IP set in Unraid, no gateway

Bridging enabled

Members of br2 = eth2

IP of pc: 192.168.100.100

qbittorrentVPN settings

IP: 192.168.1.90 (ports 6881, 8080, 8118) -- set in Docker config

Accessible from my pc at this ip only.

Web UI IP address:  *         Port: 8080

Network Interface: bound to wg0

Optional IP address to bind to: All addresses

Inactive NICs:

eth1 (1gbe)

eth3 (10gbe)

To reiterate, I can access Unraid, Sonarr, Radarr, Heimdall, Plex, etc. at either 192.168.1.90 or 192.168.100.90.  Both IPs resolve to the correct service (depending on port used).  However, the Qbittorrent webUI is only reachable at IP_1 - 192.168.1.90.  The arr services access the qbittorrent webUI via 192.168.1.90.

Any idea why this occurs or how to get the desired behavior?  Ideally, I'd like to be able to use 192.168.100.90 and 192.168.1.90 interchangeably and have them resolve to the same place.

Checked Lan IP, incognito (adblock disabled), VLan and pihole turned off. Will check host blocking later. I suspect it's something i've done so will play around for a couple more days and will post the last two things (log and run section) if i can't work it out. Thanks for your help. much appreciated.

*EDIT*

Somehow permissions had locked themselves on the download folder, set recursive 0755 and it started working.

Is there an internal log somewhere that would have told me this inside qbit?

My Torrents are starting to download but then immediately go into errored state.

I have checked the docker run command that is fine, forced an update just in case.

The logs show it connects fine - it had been working at least last week it was. (no changes made by me)

I have attempted to swap the docker to Privileged also. no luck

Any ideas on this at all?

Prereq: I copied my config file over from a different qbittorrentvpn container so it would save my categories.  Everything copies over no problem.  Every thing works without issue for weeks.

  1. Today I try to login to webgui and it user/pass does not work.
  2. Go to config file.  there is nothing listed for webui or webpassword.  Restart container.
  3. try incognito mode in brave and use u: admin pw: adminadmin.  it doesnt say bad password but it doesnt take me beyond login screen
  4. I use incognito in firefox.  admin, adminadmin works, but my webui refused to update without a manual refresh.  All status on sidebar show (0).  It will show a list of my torrents but it will not manually change save paths or show me categories to pick when use drop down menu.  This is the same result when i use Chrome incognito mode.
  5. I have no idea why my user/pass stopped working, why the interface won't update, or how to remedy.  Can you please help?

I'm running PIA for my VPN and have been using openvpn.  I would like to switch to using wireguard instead of openvpn.  I see in the documentation that you have to edit some parameters of the docker container, but I can't find where I'm supposed to do that at.  How do I go about doing this?  I feel like I'm missing something really obvious but just can't seem to figure it out.  Thanks.

Dockers tab and click the name of the docker.

Morning all,

Just a quick one I hope! I've recently done a network re-structure and changed by Unraid IP from 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.150.10.

All containers picked up the new IP automatically, and for the qbittorrent container I changed "LAN_NETWORK" from 192.168.1.0/24 to 192.168.150.0/24

However, it doesnt want to connect, what I thought was a simple change has left me baffled, any immediate ideas before we dive into logs?

So its definitely VPN related, PIA Wireguard wont connect since the local network change - is anyone aware of particular firewall rules required for WG PIA routing? I'd have thought just being internet facing was enough?

Worth noting that switching back to OpenVPN fixed the issue, somewhere within the Wireguard config its not enjoyed the local IP change.

I'm trying to set this up the first time and spent hours trying to get it to work. I'm hoping someone can help. When I try and connect to the WEB UI I get ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED in Chrome from my desktop.

It’s a DNS issue. From your log-

Quote

2021-12-13 12:53:40,148 DEBG 'start-script' stdout output:
[debug] Having issues resolving name 'france.privacy.network', sleeping before retry...

2021-12-13 12:55:15,236 DEBG 'start-script' stderr output:

PIA has been having quite a few issues lately. You might try switching to another port forwarding server. There’s a list in the log if you need it.

Weird. I just did an nslookup on the unraid host and it seems to be fine.

# nslookup france.privacy.network
Server:         10.0.0.1
Address:        10.0.0.1#53

Non-authoritative answer:
Name:   france.privacy.network
Address: 191.101.31.51
Name:   france.privacy.network
Address: 191.101.31.52
Name:   france.privacy.network
Address: 191.101.31.61
Name:   france.privacy.network
Address: 191.101.31.62
Name:   france.privacy.network
Address: 191.101.31.41

I then did the same thing from the container and it fails.

sh-5.1# nslookup france.privacy.network
;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

I figured it out. On my pfSense WAN router I am using OpenDNS with some filtering rules to protect my kids, no porn, VPNs. There's a firewall rule in pfSense to block all UDP requests to port 53 except for the WAN router which forwards to OpenDNS. Once I added an allow rule for the unraid host in front of this deny rule it's working.
