dgriff
Wonder if anyone might have a solution to reducing the CPU usage when the array is under heavy file activity? For example, when mover is running, Plex and other dockers are absolutely unusable, the Plex webGUI doesn't update, even if no playback is happening, or it isn't using files on the array (other than the cache drive). The CPU is hammered so much (presumably by the MD device and calculating parity) that the system becomes a total slug. Every CPU core maxed out on the system status graph. I'd love the option to reduce the CPU usage to allow background tasks to run properly, even if it means the mover operation doesn't run at maximum speed. Any thoughts if possible or another solution? System is: CPU Intel® Core™ i3-6100 CPU @ 3.70GHz RAM 8 GB (max. installable capacity 64 GB) Array 60TB Cache 1 TB SSD unRAID Pro v6.6.5 Link to comment
JorgeB
The CPU you're using should never be close to 100% just to calculate parity, something else might be going on, post the diagnostics when the mover is running, maybe something visible. Link to comment
