[Solved] Flash drive is set as public share

Recommended Posts

I noticed a warning as per the screenshot below:

"Flash drive is set as public share"

Sure enough it is, I can access it from my desktop. I don't see any options to disable it though. It's not an 'share' under user shares. There are no options under SMB in settings. Where do I look to disable the share?

It is relevant to me because there are others on my LAN that I wouldn't trust not to break things.

You can also export the flash drive via SMB and set it to Secure  and make it read-only without assigning a user with write permissions.  That way, You can see the drive, read the files but you no one won't be able to write to them, change them or update them.  (There are some ways to do that.  The simplest way is to shut the server down and take the drive to another computer.  Another way is to install the Krusader Docker, set up a path to the boot drive and use the built-in editor.)
