Log from before lock-up?

Featured Replies

Is there any way to see logs from before my unraid box locked up?

In the past couple weeks it's locked up 3 or 4 times and I can't figure out why.

Thanks.

By default logging is to a RAM-based file system, so when you reboot the logs are lost. If you can't access the web GUI you can try connecting a keyboard and monitor, logging in as the root user and typing

diagnostics

If you can't even do that then I would suggest you reboot and install the Fix Common Problems plugin and run it in troubleshooting mode. Then, when the server locks up again you'll be able to retrieve a log from the boot flash device.

I didn't know about Troubleshooting mode in FCP. Doing that now...

Thanks!
