What precautions do I need to take ... Switching to UEFI BIOS

Featured Replies

Running unRaid v6.6.5 for a while now and very stable on the hardware in my signature. I'm about to upgrade my BIOS and thought I'd switch from using the legacy BIOS to UEFI after I confirm my BIOS upgrade is fine (It usually is).

So, what precautions or problems should I look out for. I'm thinking everything should be fine but thought I'd ask anyways. Thanks!!

I can not recall an issue with using UEFI if Unraid boots up.  (All of the problems, and they have been few, have been associated with the actual boot process...)

You lose the ability to run MemTest from the boot menu if you UEFI boot. But you can download a newer version and make a separate USB stick that is UEFI bootable and offers more choices.

It went flawless. No problems. I did plenty of backups just in case.

Thanks for the pointers and links guys.
