Any Un-Raid FTP experts here willing to offer paid support?

Featured Replies

I have an unraid server with 16 1.5TB drives running 4.5.6. version of Unraid.

Users here in the forum were helpful enough to get my FTP server here to only show the one directory I wanted files to be uploaded to.

But suddenly over the last few days something happened to my unraid where things are just not "normal"

If I try to connect to my FTP server from windows - I get

"An error occured opening the folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permissions to access that folder

Details:

200 Switching to ASCII mode.

227 Entering Passive Mode (192.168.9.150.242,173)"

If I try to run a backup from a linux server - here is the message I get.

"<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

  <execution-result status="error">

    <object name="xxxxxx.com" type="domain">

I really need to get my FTP server back up and running as we backup our whole company to it daily.

Any ideas?  At this point I am willing to pay for someone that can help me get back up and running.

Another problem that has started recently - is that when I try to move files to the unraid - without fail always the first attempt will always fail.  I thought this might be because the drives were "asleep" - but maybe that is not the case.

Anyone here know or have any answers?

I think after Sept 8th - something changed on my server and now I can no longer write to folders on my unraid FTP server.

I am totally stumped and desperate to get back up and running.

Can you post a syslog that includes bootup and trying to write to it?

When you say something changed on Sept 8, is that because that is when it stopped working, or did you make changes on Sept 8 but aren't sure how to undo them?

Assuming you have another flash drive with your backup key, you might consider a fresh install on your backup flash. I know I've seen instructions on how to retain your array configuration if you start fresh, check the wiki. Once you've got your array back online with the fresh install, set your shares back up how you want them. It will probably be the fastest way for you to get back online. If you encounter a problem, you can always pop your original flash drive back in and you won't be any worse off than you are now.
