November 23, 20187 yr Hi Just pluged in a second usb harddisk want to use as a unassigned device for backing up some shares. Wondering why the allready pluged in device goes away in the overview of the UD's. Is just one allowed? Or do I just a simple thing wrong? cracksilver
November 23, 20187 yr You are allowed to connect more than one. Post your diagnostics. Tools -> Diagnostics.
November 23, 20187 yr Community Expert No idea - there is no such limit built in to UD. Sounds as if the old drive dropped offline for some reason. How is it plugged in? Providing system diagnostics zip file (obtained via Tools->Diagnostics) might allow for some more informed feedback.
November 23, 20187 yr Author Both are over a USB to SATA adapter pluged in. When I plug in A, then B goes. Then plug in B again, A goes.... and so on. Tried everything. attached tower diagnostics. thx tower-diagnostics-20181123-1426.zip
November 23, 20187 yr Community Expert Some USB enclosures use the same identifier and don't show the actual disk s/n, and repeated identifiers can confuse Unraid (and UD)
