Can somebody please interpret my SMART report? (sorry if posted multiple times)

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have previously had trouble with my 1.5TB Samsung F2 hard drive when it was in my WHS system. I have since moved to Unraid and decided to run preclear before assigning the drive to my array. The errors I used to receive with this drive on WHS were 'cyclic redundancy checks/crc's. The drive is much noisier than my newer F2 1.5TB so I'm curious as to whether I should return it for a replacement.

Please could somebody interpret the following SMART report of the drive, I really have no idea what any of it means as I am well out of my comfort zone. Should I RMA the drive?

All help is very much appreciated :)

Joe

edit: I can see I have posted this in the wrong section of the forum. Please can a mod move it if necessary, thanks

Your drive looks perfectly healthy.

There are no re-allocated sectors, and none pending re-allocation, none of the "normalized" values are anywhere near their failure thresholds.

There were 2 CRC errors as you described, probably a cable issue (noise pickup, or poor connection)

Thank you very much for your reply, I will now start copying data to the drive without worrying :)
