I hope that someone can help, as I am getting very frustrated.

 

I have just build a bootable USB flash drive with UNraid version 6.6.4 and that when well.

then I click on Trail version, and the screen flash and took me into the Dashboard.

 

but when I tried and assign a Hard Drive to one of the slots, say the Party slot 1, and then go down to start I see that it is gray out and it informs me that I have to import the Trail key.

 

OK I say. so I go and find this on the root of my USB pen drive, and this is where I am having issues.

 

how do you install the key.    I have tryed cut and paste, drag and drop, type on the HTTP://localhost/trail.key but nothing is working.

 

as I want to start testing this as I am looking for a new storage device.

It should be sitting in the config folder on the flash drive

my mistake there is a file within the config folder called trail.key.

 

I how have tried the following url to active the OS.

http://localhost/config/trial.key

 

and I got he following error

 

ERROR, bad or missing key file URL: http://localhost/config/trial.key

 

and when Iook in the log file I see this

 

Dec 5 06:08:09 storehouse emhttpd: error: get_key_info, 586: No medium found (123): fread: /boot/config/Trial.key

 

do I need to re-create the USB Pen drive, and re-request the Trail key ?

 

ps. I wasn't asked for a email address when I requested a trail version. which look like the normal procedure to get a license key.

could this be a root course of my issue.

We eliminated the need for an e-mail address to register for a trial to make things easier.

 

Plus attach your diagnostics to this thread so we can review.  Something is amiss.

Sorry for being thick.   what diagnostics would you like, and can you please inform me on how to get it. as I am still getting my head around Unraid.

I would like to say that I have resolve the first issue.

 

if anyone is following behind me.  I had to do the following

    re-create the Boot Flash drive

    boot into GUI mode on the UNRAND Server

    set the regional time and place

    then I click on the Test Trail Icon, and this work.

 

I did try and fix my IP address but for some reason it didn't like this so I have to use DHCP.  I will try and fix my IP address once it has finished creating the Array
