September 19, 201015 yr Hello good people. I discovered unRAID from a friend and decided to finally give my data some love. I currently have 3x2TB WD's filling up so i bought myself 3x2TB Samsungs to move everything on in a new unRAID system. I know i need to transfer data first, then add a parity drive and all. I'd like to get your opinion on my build, here it is https://secure.scan.co.uk/aspnet/Shop/SavedBasket/Show.aspx?Id=69acc5d685514efaa59119395eeb1141 Am i missing something? I only need 6 SATA ports for now as i'll only have 6 drives. Looking forward to setting this up!
September 19, 201015 yr Looks good to me. The only question I have is if the NIC on the ASUS board is supported. You may have to drop in a replacement LAN card. Any reason why you picked that mother board?
September 19, 201015 yr Author Wanted one with 6 SATA ports for that price. All the AMD ones around that price range only had 5 ports so i went with an Intel combo. It has the RealTek 8111B/C or something which should be supported i hope. Forgot to buy a flash drive.
September 20, 201015 yr Author Ok then i was impatient so i went ahead and ordered it. Will get building this week! Cheers all.
