I plan on building an unraid NAS running a few dockers for plex media server and newsnet stuff like radarr, sabnzbd, sonar. I also like to have a VM to run a game server for Arma 3 but only 2 players will be on it. There will be a maximum of 2 plex streams at any given time (1080p).

 

Is an Intel Xeon E5-1650 v4 overkill? Or should I just go consumer grade hardware?

    That's a fair amount of work.  I'd try for 6 cores or better.  There are several ways to do that these days, including both consumer and enterprise CPU's.
