Cheapest expansion of storage?

I currently have a basic license, with 2/3/2/2tb and 3tb parity.

I have a LSI 9212 with 4i4e ports, would it be cheaper to buy a drive enclosure as I have multiple spare drives on hand and then upgrade to the pro license?

Or to simply upgrade the existing drives in the system? Realistically I can't see any point going for anything less than 6tb if I'm upgrading drives at about £150 a pop.

Thanks.

I'd upgrade your drives, think about the space you'd have if you had 8TB drives...

+1

Fewer drives means fewer opportunities for problems. More drives means more opportunities for problems. Adding an external enclosure is yet more opportunities for problems.

And larger drives typically have a performance advantage due to increased density.
