VPN Question

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

I've been running unraid v5 flawlessly for about 5 years. I'm upgrading to V6 now, but I have a question.

I have PIA VPN. Is there a way (if I get a second ethernet card) to plug in a switch into unraid and then have every device that is connected via ethernet to that specific switch in effect be running through PIA VPN?

I have a device or two that I would like to have a hardware PIA VPN solution. I was looking at the Asus routers but they are very expensive especially the ones that have enough CPU power to encrypt the connection. I figured I would ask you guys if something like this would be possible since my unraid is on 24/7... That would be amazing!

BTW,  I don't necessarily want the apps that I will install on the unraid itself to utilize the VPN. As I understand plex (which I eventually pan to run on unraid) will have difficulty with remote connections if its behind a VPN like PIA

You could run something like the Deluge-VPN container from @binhex

That sets up a proxy which you could use that routes all traffic over the VPN.
