What would parity2 be doing if it were the only spinning disk? It has no data. If it is being rebuilt, where would it get the data to calculate? From your previous comments I can only guess that you think it can get it from parity1, but even if that were true, then parity1 would also be spinning.

 

And as I already explained, how could the disk order affect parity2 if it only needed parity1 to calculate? You know parity1 doesn't know anything at all about each individual disk don't you?
