December 16, 20187 yr Community Expert I still think there's a problem with server, not the disks, possibly with the mini SAS cable, you should at least try to disconnect and reconnect it from the board, if the same replace it.
December 16, 20187 yr Author Still working on this, but after a bit more research it does seem that other people have had similar issues with the 8TB drives in Slot 1 and Slot 2 (but not 3 or 4). I guess it is time to ditch the proprietary HP junk and build my own. Can anyone recommend a case that is similar in size? I've got 12" W x 12" H x 14" D of space to work with. This Gen 8 fits perfectly in the limited space that I have. Edited December 16, 20187 yr by 3560freak
