are there backup solutions for Windows Clients ?

Start a Backup on the clients and store the Backups on Unraid ?

For example synology has the solutions acronis true image, Active Backup for Business

There is nothing bundled in with Unraid to carry this out.

 

Having said that any backup software that is capable of backing up to a server on the network should work just fine.

On Windows I use a combination of methods.  I use Window's built-in Backup to regularly backup selected folder structures such as My Documents.  For me there's enough flexibilty in terms of choossing the content to back up and simple scheduling.  I also use FreeFileSync which I run manually from time to time to manage backups of large amounts of infrequently updated material.  I found FreeFileSync good enough that I have paid for it for a year to keep up to date with newer versions.  Both are worth considering in my view.  I am sure there will be other recommendations.

Veam backup. But you are going to need storage. In effect for clients you can use Onedrive for business and pay. Get a 1tb an free file versioning for cheap. It averages abiut the same if there's a lot of users.

I use Acronis TrueImage to backup by Windows boxes (both physical & VM) directly to unraid. It's not a free product but it's mostly set & forget.

 

I've been able to successfully restore multiple failed systems due to a drive going bad with no data loss though sometimes I had to install a fresh copy of Windows and then overwrite the Windows partition with the Windows partition backup.

 

Note that you can only tie 5 systems to any given email address on their system.
