Unraid on Hades Canyon NUC with Thunderbolt 3

Hi All,

I've been using Unraid for about 2 years with a Lian Li small form factor case and have been incredibly happy.

 

Recently I've been wondering if it would be possible to run Unraid on a Hades Canyon NUC connected to a Thunderbolt 3 Storage and eGPU enclosure:

- Hades Canyon NUC (https://www.intel.com.au/content/www/au/en/products/boards-kits/nuc/kits/nuc8i7hnk.html)

- OWC Thunderbay 6 (https://www.owcdigital.com/products/thunderbay-6)

- OWC Mercury Helios FX (https://www.owcdigital.com/products/mercury-helios-fx)

 

Does anyone know if such a setup would work (either by plug n play or by manual tweaks)?

I haven't been able to find much regarding Thunderbolt 3 support within Unraid on the forums and I was just curious if anyone has tried something similar and could provide advice?

 

Any advice, information or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

    While not very practical, Unraid does work with intel nuc's and it's plug and play, as well as the thunderbolt 3 port.

     

    I haven't tested gpu passthrough with the nuc.
