How to determine which version of Unraid you are currently running?

Featured Replies

Sorry to be dense, but I've looked just about everywhere I could think of and haven't been able to determine where you look to find which version of Unraid you are currently running. I thought that you could find this from using the Web Interface. But I've been unsuccessful so far.

I THINK I'm running ver 4 or 5 since I installed this back in 2014. It's been running pretty flawlessly so I never upgraded. Now I want to add a Plex Server plug in and need to know if an upgrade to the Unraid software is required

Any help here?

Current plugins are not compatible with such an old version of Unraid.    You would need to upgrade to v6 to do this (but v6 `DOES require hardware that is 64-bit compatible).

Probably at the top right on the GUI

But, barring that you can always get the version via

cat /etc/unraid-version

Highly recommended, but if you're not running a 64 bit processor, then you can search for PhAzE plugins on the forum here.

When running without the GUI, when the server is done loading it will say the Version above your allocated IP Address.  With a GUI, it will be located at the top left.

There actually isn't any plex plugin anymore. In V6 applications are implemented as dockers (there are literally hundreds, including plex). Plugins are only used where necessary to extend the webUI and NAS functionality.

Take a look at this Upgrading to Unraid V6 wiki.

If you want to get some idea of what's new, have a look at the Product link at the top of any forum page. Might be a bit overwhelming at first but you can take it (or leave it) a bit at a time.
